ABOUT US MEHRAN DAWAKHANA
Hakeem Haji Mohammad Soomar started practicing as Hakeem in 1950 in a very remote area of Pakistan called, Badin, Sindh. He started from a small herbal shop (Pansar store) and used to prepare his own recipes for patients after diagnosis. There was not a single doctor present in the area for primary healthcare, and Hakim sahib was the only source of remedy to them. Hakeem Mohammad Usman, son of Hakeem Mohammad Soomar was very keen in Tibb-e-Unani, and completed graduation in Tibb with distinction (awarded Gold Medal) from Azam Tibbia College, Hyderabad. He started practicing Hikmat from 1965 in Badin. He realized the need of quality medicines for local people at affordable prices. In this regard, Mehran Dawakhana (Mehran Herbal) was formally registered in1971 as the only manufacturer in Badin for Unani Medicines. Hakim Mohammad Usman was an expert in Nuskha Naweesi (Presrciption writing) of Unani medicine. Using his knowledge and clinical experience, he started manufacturing some of the very effective products on small scale. Some of these products are still in use. Hakim Mohammad Usman was very open minded in the sense that he never hide his prescriptions and knowledge from others and always used to write down the information on papers so that others can be benefited. He produced a number of Hakeems during his period and transferred the knowledge practically to them. Now Mehran Dawakhana is run by his sons who are graduates of Hikmat and modern pharmaceutical sciences.
Currently, we are manufacturing over 50 products for various ailments. We have fully competent team of Hakeems, Ph.D. Doctor, Clinicians and marketing experts. We also have OPD facility to cater healthcare needs of local people. Mehran Dawakhana is equipped with modern manufacturing and quality control facilities and strictly following good manufacturing practices (GMP).
